School Profile

TRPCS serves children by teaching them through a developmentally appropriate curriculum.

According to Piaget’s Theory of Cognitive Development, children progress through age related developmental stages. Our curriculum is implemented to meet the diverse needs, interests and developmental levels of children.
Learning centers in the classroom provide opportunities to grow socially, interacting in small groups. Centers are the center of problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
Art, music, dramatic play, puzzles, games, books, and stories are all tools for children to learn about the world.
Daily outside play and a weekly motor skills class refine muscles, improve coordination, provide for social growth, and learning through play.
Language activities include vocabulary development, phonemic skills, beginning writing and awareness of the meaning of print. Centers are arranged so that children can choose from a wealth of activities.
Experienced teachers and aides are well trained. Yearly training in early childhood development is provided so that staff members are up to date with trends in education. Many of our teachers have degrees in education, and their warmth and nurturing personalities plus experience in the field of early childhood education combine to form a knowledgeable preschool staff.
Parent involvement is in an integral part of education at Timber Ridge. Parents and teachers work together to enrich the lives of the children. Family events throughout the year mean that family is important to our school.
